Planning your family photos can be overwhelming. From scheduling your session to choosing outfits and finding the perfect location I try and make your family photo experience non stressful, and lots of fun. From the minute we book I'm here to help guide you and your family to have the best family photo shoot. Here's a little outline of what you can expect.
Sit back & Relax! During the session it's often a natural instinct to want to coerce your child into smiling by asking him or her to "say cheese" or by doing something silly. I really pride myself on engaging with your kids in a way that shows a natural and emotive response. It tends to work best if parents stay back ( as long as you and your child are comfortable) and allow me to work one on one with your child.
A common question among my clients is what they should wear to their family photo session. Clothing choices are a essential part of the process, so for that reason here's a outline of a few things to consider when choosing your outfit.
Coordinate Colors: Try and stay away from outfits that are perfectly matched. Consider selecting 3-4 coordinating colors and select outfits within the palette for each family member.
Layering: Try layering vest, jackets, and scarves. Also try not to over do the accessories.
Be YOU: I want to capture authentic images of you and your family. Select clothes that reflect your personal style and taste rather than whatever is "trendy".
I look forward to having a wonderful family photo shoot and meeting you and your family!
Portrait sessions are all shot outside in the natural light of the sun. Don't expect chin tilting, and traditional posing. I love more natural snapshots of children at play, giggling with a sibling, stomping in a puddle, or close-ups of their face as they talk to me about their favorite ice cream or super-hero.
